Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Gaming Laptop Deal Spotted

HP Victus 15 Gaming Laptop

Best Buy's Black Friday laptop deals are now live, and I've just found a fantastic offer on a previous-generation budget gaming laptop. The HP Victus 15 is now just$549.99(originally $899.99) and comes with a 144Hz 1080p display, Nvidia RTX 4050, AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and a 512GB SSD. While it's not the most powerful gaming laptop available, finding a gaming laptop at this price point is exceptionally rare outside of Black Friday. It's an excellent choice for esports titles like Rocket League and Dota 2, and performs well with indie games like Balatro and Megabonk. Check out our fullHP Victus 15 reviewfor more performance details from our hands-on testing.

Deal:HP Victus 15 (15-inch FHD, AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050, 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD): was $899.99 now $549.99 at Best Buy

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-MacBook Pro M5 Discount

Apple MacBook Pro (M5, 2025)

For macOS enthusiasts, you'll be pleased to know Apple hasn't been overlooked this year. Nearly the entire Mac lineup is discounted, including the M5 MacBook Pro, which is now$1,649(down from $1,799) at Amazon. Our Managing Editor, Core Tech (and the original author of this guide), Matt Hanson, awarded this year's model4 out of 5 stars in his review, commending its impressive battery life, capable performance, and reasonable price point (matching the M4 MacBook Pro). It does lack Wi-Fi 7, and its design remains largely unchanged from last year, so if you already own an M3 or M4 model, there might not be a compelling reason to upgrade. However, if your Mac is several years old, especially if it's an Intel-powered system, this Black Friday deal offers a fantastic opportunity to acquire new hardware.

Deal:Apple MacBook Pro (M5, 2025) (14-inch Liquid Retina, M5 processor, 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB unified memory, 1TB SSD): was $1,799.99 now $1,649.99 at Amazon

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Alienware Gaming Laptop Deal

Alienware 16 Aurora Gaming Laptop

If you're looking to dive into some games, Amazon has an excellent deal on the Alienware 16 Aurora Gaming laptop, now reduced to$899.99(from $1,249.99). Finding a decent gaming laptop for under $1,000 is almost impossible these days, which is why taking advantage of these Black Friday sales is crucial if you're considering an upgrade or a holiday gift. This configuration includes an RTX 5050, Intel Core 7-240H, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD, along with a 120Hz WQXGA display. It's perfect for high FPS 1080p gaming, or 1440p with some adjusted settings. Plus, this marks the lowest price I've ever seen for this laptop – making this deal truly exceptional.

Deal:Alienware 16 Aurora Gaming (16-inch WQXGA, Intel Core 7-240H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD): was $1,249.99 now $899.99 at Amazon

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Affordable Chromebook Highlight

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go

Speaking of Chromebooks that strike a balance between performance and affordability, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go is on sale for$129.99(originally $299.99) at Amazon. That’s a substantial 57% off. While this Chromebook has its limitations, such as a less-than-stellar screen, it’s hard not to recommend it at this price if you simply need an inexpensive laptop for email, web browsing, and occasional YouTube videos. To be clear, this won't offer much computing power, and I wouldn't consider downloading games on it. However, what you do get is a highly affordable Chromebook that consistently handles basic tasks. Want to learn more? Check out ourin-depth review here.

Deal:Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go (14-inch, Celeron N4500, 4GB DDR4, 64GB SSD): was $299.99 now $129.99 at Amazon

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Chromebook Spec Advice

Many wonder about the ideal specs for a Chromebook, which truly depends on your specific needs. However, a few important points about Chromebooks are worth remembering. Firstly, they differ from Windows laptops or MacBooks, which run more robust operating systems. Consequently, Chromebooks require significantly less RAM; a budget Chromebook can function well with 4GB of memory, which is roughly what a Windows laptop or MacBook needs just to load its OS. Secondly, as Chromebooks are designed to heavily utilize cloud storage through G-Suite (Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.), extensive local storage isn't necessary, so 64GB is typically more than enough for an affordable Chromebook. While you can certainly find higher-spec Chromebooks, and they perform admirably, the true sweet spot for Chromebooks lies in their affordability combined with just enough power to handle the basic computing tasks that comprise most of our daily laptop usage.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-$49 Chromebook Alert!

Dell Chromebook 3120

Alright, I absolutely HAD to bring you this one, as it's incredibly rare to find a brand-new computer for less than $50. The Dell Chromebook 3120 is currently on sale at Walmart for just$49. I repeat, it’s on sale for $49. To be clear, this machine will not offer stellar performance by any measure. Its processor was discontinued a decade ago, and its 16GB storage is severely limited. It may also face challenges with future ChromeOS updates, raising questions about its longevity. However, if you need an extremely cheap device for a child's first laptop for very basic schoolwork, or something purely for streaming movies on the go, this laptop can certainly fulfill those roles. Just be sure to limit yourself to one or two Chrome tabs at a time.

Deal:Dell Chromebook 3120 (11.6-inch 768p, Celeron N2840, 4GB DDR3L, 16GB eMMC): was $57 now $49 at Walmart

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Another Chromebook Bargain

Asus Chromebook CX1505

Switching gears, I’ve found an incredible offer on an Asus Chromebook CX1505 for just$139at Walmart, representing an approximate$81 savings. Powered by an Intel Celeron N4500 processor, 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage with a 15.6-inch display, this laptop isn't going to set any performance records. However, our expert laptop reviewer, Lewis Maddison, stated that "you’ll struggle to find a more generous offering in the Chromebook sector than the CX1505" when he reviewed it recently, and that was before this significant price cut. While it’s not ideal for heavy multitasking or demanding workloads, for basic everyday computing needs, it's an excellent choice, especially given its price.

Deal:Asus Chromebook CX1505 (15.6-inch, Celeron N4500, 4GB, 128GB): was $219.99 now $139 at Walmart

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Chromebook Deals Roundup

While all the Windows laptops highlighted below are fantastic choices, sometimes you just want something incredibly simple. For that, nothing beats a good Chromebook. I’m currently compiling thebest Chromebook dealsI can find to help you select the right device for your needs and budget.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Surface Pro 11 Discount

Microsoft Surface Pro 11 Tablet (Device Only)

When I reviewed the Microsoft Surface Pro 11 last year, I was genuinely impressed by the advancements in Windows on Arm, particularly regarding app compatibility and performance, though I found its price a bit steep. However, you can now get theMicrosoft Surface Pro 11 (device only, with Snapdragon X Elite SoC) for just $1,199.99 at Best Buy, making it a much more accessible recommendation. You’ll still need to purchase a detachable keyboard if you don't already own one. If you do, the Surface Pro 11 is compatible with earlier 13-inch Pro edition keyboards from the Surface Pro 8 and 9, so existing users looking to upgrade may find their current keyboard works. If you do need the new Pro Flex Keyboard and its accompanying Surface Slim Pen (2nd Edition), you can get them bundled on sale for$359.99.

Deal:Microsoft Surface Pro 11 Tablet (Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, 16GB, 1TB, 1,920p OLED PixelSense display, Sapphire): was $1,699.99 now $1,199.99 at Best Buy

Bundle Deal:Microsoft Surface Slim Pen (2nd Edition) and Pro Flex Keyboard for Pro 13-inch (11th Edition): was $499.98 now $359.99 at Best Buy

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Favorite Laptop of the Year Deal

Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch (2025)

Okay, I want to kick things off with what is easily my favorite laptop of the year: the Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch. While it won't win awards for high-performance computing, for everyday and productivity use, it's a fantastic laptop that easily lasts a full workday on a single charge. It might not quite match MacBook Air levels of battery life or performance, but it boasts something the MacBook Air doesn’t: a stunning violet colorway. I’ve been advocating for a purple laptop for years, and this model finally delivered. Now, theMicrosoft Surface Laptop 13-inch (2025) is on sale for just $799.99 at Best Buy, a$200 discount. For this price, you get an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus SoC, 16GB memory, a 512GB SSD, and a 13-inch 1280p display – more than sufficient for students, remote workers, or anyone needing a dependable portable computer for years to come.

Deal:Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch (2025): was $999.99 now $799.99 at Best Buy

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Budget Dell Laptop Offer

Dell 14 Plus

If you're seeking an excellent budget option, the Dell 14 Plus stands out as one of the best Windows laptops available. The14 Plus is now on sale for a remarkably low price of just $599.99 at Dell.com. While it’s not a flawless laptop—especially if your needs involve gaming or more resource-intensive creative tasks—for its price, it easily represents one of the best values you’ll find for a 14-inch Windows laptop.

Deal:Dell 14 Plus (Intel Core Ultra 5 226V, Intel Arc graphics, 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD, 14-inch non-touch 2.5K IPS): was $999.99 now $599.99 at Dell.com

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Dell 14 Premium Deal

Dell 14 Premium

The Dell 14 Premium is one of our all-time favorite laptops, lauded for its exceptional design, powerful performance, and outstanding battery life. As a Windows alternative to the MacBook Pro, it’s arguably as good as it gets, and right now, you can purchase it for a remarkably low price of$999.99on Dell's Website for Black Friday.

Deal:Dell 14 Premium (Intel Core Ultra 7, Intel Arc graphics, 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD, 14.5-inch non-touch 2K IPS): was $1,549.99 now $999.99 at Dell.com

John, US Computing Editor-Afternoon Takeover

Hey folks, this is John, TechRadar's US Computing Editor, taking over for Matt for the rest of the afternoon. Black Friday is an excellent time to buy a laptop, so I'll be bringing you all the best Black Friday deals on Windows laptops, MacBooks, Chromebooks, and more as I discover them. Stay tuned!

John, US Computing Editor-Gaming Laptop Buying Guide

The first question you should ask yourself is: what kind of games do you enjoy playing? If your game library is filled with titles like Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, or Minecraft, you don't need to spend a fortune on an RTX 5090. Instead, a quality budget option like theASUS TUF Gaming F16 (currently $749.99 at Amazon)will likely suffice. On the other hand, if you appreciate visually stunning single-player games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2, you might want to invest in more powerful hardware to fully utilize features like ray tracing and the latest version of Nvidia DLSS. This is also my recommendation if your non-gaming hobbies, like video editing, demand significant processing power. You should also consider the form factor: do you need something thin and light for portability to work or school? Or would you prefer a machine with a large screen and robust cooling? Combining these factors with your performance requirements and budget will help you choose the ideal gaming laptop during the Black Friday sales. We’ll keep this list updated with the best laptop deals we find, so keep your budget in mind and browse our recommendations to find your perfect fit.

John, US Computing Editor-Razer Blade 14 Deal

Razer Blade 14 (2025)

Amazon has the excellentRazer Blade 14 for $1,699.99 (down from $1,799.99). While not the most substantial discount ever, it’s a respectable price reduction on one of the finest gaming laptops we’ve ever used. This Razer Blade 14 (2025) configuration comes equipped with an RTX 5070, Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD, all complemented by a stunning 14-inch OLED display. John, US Computing Editor-MacBook Air Deal

Apple MacBook Air (15-inch, M4)

One constant during Black Friday is MacBook deals. My top recommendation, the 15-inch MacBook Air, has a healthy$250 discount, bringing its total price under $1,000. That’s a phenomenal deal for a laptop that already offers nearly unbeatable value.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Cheap Windows 11 Laptop

Acer Aspire 15

Woah! I’ve just found this fantastic offer for a Windows 11 laptop: theAcer Aspire 15, now $199.99 at Amazon. Now, for just under $200, don't expect a powerhouse. However, with an Intel Core 3 processor, 8GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD, it will competently handle standard tasks. It’s a good choice for anyone with a Windows 10 device needing an upgrade without spending a lot. As long as your expectations are realistic (it won't play games, and heavy workloads like video editing might feel sluggish), this isn't a bad choice at all, and it’s now cheaper than the lowest price I observed during the recent Amazon Big Deal Days event.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Acer Aspire 14 AI Copilot+ PC Deal (US)

Acer Aspire 14 AI Copilot+ PC

Back over to the US, and I’ve discovered this excellent deal. We were highly impressed with the Intel version of the Acer Aspire 14 AI Copilot+ PC in our review, and for Black Friday,Amazon has slashed the price by 27% to just $439.99, making it an incredibly valuable purchase. If you’re still using Windows 10, you’ve likely been encouraged to consider upgrading to a Copilot+ PC like the Acer Aspire 14 AI. It includes an NPU, allowing it to handle on-device AI tools, thus maintaining your privacy as you don't need to share anything online. Even if AI isn't a concern, with an Intel Core Ultra 5 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, this is a fantastic laptop offering solid performance for daily tasks and even more demanding workflows like 4K video editing and music production.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-UK Gaming Laptop Deal

Acer Nitro V16

I’ve just spotted this great UK gaming laptop deal for theAcer Nitro V16, which was £1,299 and is now £1,099 from Very. The specifications are very impressive: Nvidia RTX 5070, AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The RTX 5070 is one of the best graphics cards you can find in a gaming laptop, allowing you to play the very latest games at high settings. While it’s still a significant investment, with some gaming laptops costing almost three times this price, I believe it's an excellent purchase for anyone seeking a gaming laptop that won't bankrupt them. This Acer Nitro V16 deal gets you an RTX 5070, part of Nvidia's latest generation of gaming GPUs, granting access to advanced features like DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, which can significantly enhance performance and allow budget gaming laptops like this to truly punch above their weight.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Affordable Windows 11 Laptop

Budget Windows 11 Laptop

With that in mind, here’s a good, cheap Windows 11 laptop I’ve just found on Amazon. For this sub-$300 price tag, you get a solid and dependable laptop that won't amaze you but will keep up with most of your essential tasks. Its 13th generation Intel Core i3 processor and 8GB of RAM will handle most applications, and the 512GB SSD offers ample storage space. This isn't a multitasking workstation, but you gain the flexibility of Windows 11 for a price typically only associated with a Chromebook.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Budget Laptop Buying Advice

I don't know about you, but I'm currently not in the mood (or financial position) to spend a lot of money, so the Black Friday laptop deals I'mreallyinterested in are the budget options. Buying avery cheap laptopisn't as simple as just selecting the one with the lowest price. Unfortunately, sales events like this can sometimes lead retailers to offload underpowered and outdated laptops, and no matter how inexpensive they are, if they don't perform well, you'll still feel like you've wasted money. So, when searching for a cheap Windows 11 laptop, I recommend aiming for no less than 8GB of RAM, with an SSD of 256GB (preferably more). A recent processor is also essential.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-US Gaming Laptop Deal: ASUS TUF Gaming F16

ASUS TUF Gaming F16

Over in the US, Amazon has an excellent deal on theAsus TUF Gaming F16 gaming laptop, with a 25% discount, bringing the price down to$749.99. It’s increasingly challenging to find a decent gaming laptop for under $1,000 these days, but this is a very strong contender. Its Nvidia RTX 4050, while not the absolute latest or most powerful GPU, is a very capable budget graphics card. With support for technologies like DLSS, you should still be able to play modern games with high graphical settings and effects enabled. The Intel Core 5 210H processor offers very good performance, and the 512GB SSD provides ample space for storing games. I must admit that 8GB of DDR5 RAM feels slightly on the low side, but if your primary use for this laptop will be gaming rather than extensive multitasking with many apps open, then it shouldn't be a significant issue, especially at this low price.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-UK Premium Laptop Deal: Microsoft Surface Laptop

Microsoft Surface Laptop (UK)

If you're seeking something more high-end, this is a brilliant deal in the UK that shouldn't be missed: Microsoft's excellentSurface Laptop is now £1,099 (down from £1,649) at Amazon. This is a MacBook Air-challenging deal for several reasons. It features the powerful Snapdragon X Elite chip, which handles daily tasks effortlessly while being energy-efficient enough to ensure day-long battery life, plus 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. The 33% price cut is very tempting – however, we did observe it at an even lower price during Amazon's recent Prime Day sales.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-UK Budget Windows 11 Laptop

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3

If you're looking to buy a new Windows 11 laptop, it doesn't mean you need to spend a fortune. Over on Amazon in the UK, they are selling theLenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 for just £319.99 (down from £495.13). This is an excellent price for a stylish laptop. With a full HD 14-inch screen, Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, it offers outstanding value for money and avoids the common issues I typically find with super-cheap Windows 11 laptops (weak processors, insufficient RAM, and small storage). This is a great little laptop for day-to-day use, especially at this price.

Matt Hanson, Computing Editor-Welcome to the Live Blog!

Welcome to our live blog, where we'll be highlighting the very best Black Friday laptop deals as they emerge across the internet. As you might expect, early laptop deals have been appearing rapidly throughout November, and I'll be pinpointing the best ones as they surface. Finding the best Black Friday laptop deal is particularly crucial in 2025, as Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 with security updates in October. Consequently, many individuals with older Windows 10 laptops will be looking to upgrade, and that's precisely where this page comes in.
